Changes, Change

Reflecting Galway’s capricious weather, Shane O’Malley’s street mural changes in response to rainfall. How many variations do you see?

Faoi Rún

A site-specific exhibition tracing the interplay between landscape, climate and culture.

Walk with Me

Galwegian Gerry Daly shares poetry and stories of his native city, in a walk and a talk under a conjoined umbrella for two.

Galway’s weather can be such a drama queen. Share your pictures of Galway’s weather being beautifully bad here.

  Umbrella Orphanage Covid-19 Hacks

Here's how to hack your broken umbrella to create something both useful and beautiful in response to the strange challenges that Covid 19 is throwing our way: how to protect ourselves, shop safely, wrangle feral hair...

Grain Loves Rain

Grain Loves Rain is a wearable piece of nature for a rainy climate. A fragile ecosystem on the go, this is a living fabric you need to feed with rain.

Designs for a Drowned Galway

How will we go about our everyday lives in a near future drowned Galway? A site-specific art installation featuring designs by artists from Ireland and Palestine that imagine how we might cope with this enormous and imminent change.

Borrow – Stay Dry – Return

BORROW a Sew Last Season customised brolly from a Galway City library, STAY DRY when it rains, RETURN for the next person to use.

Le Déluge

With our sights set on conducting a day of epic water battles and games on the beach as soon as it is safe to do so, we are inviting children and parents to design and build their own weaponry of water war. Follow artist Pete Casby’s online guides to create your own tools of maximum soakage.

Umbrella Orphanage

Thanks to everyone who donated a broken brolly or participated in the February sessions. 68 participants helped us dismantle 667 rescued umbrellas. That’s 54Kg of metal and 667msq of fabric out of landfill and ready for new lives as artworks.
